| 内容記述 | Allyl-isothiocyanate (AITC), highly contained in mustard oil, is the major ingredient of its characteristic pungency. Many reports with regard to ITC family including AITC had been mainly concentrated on its anti-cancer action, however, the physiological effect is less extensively analyzed. In this study, we examined the effect of AITC on tension generation stimulated by K^+ depolarization, norepinephrine (NE) and acetylcholine (ACh) in isolated mice smooth muscles. Tension analysis using endothelium-free vascular smooth muscles exhibited the following results. 1. AITC repressed tension development in thoracic, abdominal and femoral arteries, and the repressions were effective at peripheral arteries. 2. In these arteries, vasodilatory effect of AITC was more effective on NE stimulation than that of K^+ depolarization. 3. In portal vein, AITC did not affect the contraction caused by both K^+ and ACh. These results suggested the potential effect of AITC as a vasodilator in the peripheral arteries in mice. | |||||
